Earlier this year, Abersea’ offshore division completed a site survey on the Maersk Gallant’s BOP Control System.
The scope of work included an API Audit and technical review of the electrical portion of the BOP Control system. This was with a view to Maersk Drilling further enhancing the system and to integrate additional HPHT functionality for the Gallants next drilling campaign with Total.
Raisepower Ltd, specialists in the fields of enhancing and refurbishing subsea control systems and surface related equipment,have awarded Abersea Engineering the project which will require the design, manufacture and integration of additional functionality while also replacing the Gallants remote control panels.

The replacement control panels are currently going through 3rd party design approval by Lloyds Register and manufacturing and testing will be completed by mid-October.
Installation will begin after the Maersk Gallant’s current drilling campaign is completed. A team of Night and Day Shifts will be implemented by Abersea’ offshore division to meet the tight installation and commissioning deadline.
